2016 Beryl Denton

Beryl Denton received the ATA’s Award for Excellence for her work ‘Family Favourites’, exhibited at the Creative Fibre New Zealand National Exhibition, ‘Fibrant’, April 28 – May 1, 2016 in Auckland, New Zealand.

Describing her tapestry, Beryl says that:

‘It is not just the taste – but each year I have a compulsion to sketch and weave this fruit!

The persimmon tree in the garden had beautiful autumn colour. We have to share the fruit with native Tui sitting in the branches defending his territory and the ripe orange persimmons.’
