The current body of tapestry work focuses on the amalgamation of the textile medium and sonic art forms, resulting in a spatiotemporal material process. The artist creates augmented tapestry artworks with extended dimensions of sensitive structures that unfold materiality into the sonic domain. Warps, wefts, looms, control voltage, and synthesizers woven together into an emergent system.

Judit Eszter Kárpáti PhD is an interdisciplinary textile artist, postdoctoral researcher. Her practice and research focuses on hybrid materiality, dynamic surfaces, and the interlinkage of textiles with digital media, exploring its cultural, technological and aesthetic implications.
