Ann Newdigate Mills grew up in South Africa before immigrating to Canada in the mid-1960s. Her imagery inflects the tone of tapestry towards its kilim sources while mixing cultural dislocations with narratives of time. A solo show of her work opened at Mendel Art Gallery in 1988 accompanied by a catalog, “Ann Newdigate Mills: Look At It This Way.”
