Birgitta Hallberg’s Artist Statement

On my black warp I weave my pictures and stories. The interpretation I leave up to you! My tapestries grow with many colours in wool, linen and cotton. I combine Gobelin technique with a very free use of the old “rosengang” technique. It gives structure to colors and shapes.

Birgitta Hallberg’s Biography

I am a textile artist living in Denmark. I was born in Sweden. Since my début in 1974 at the Artists’ Autumn Exhibition in Copenhagen, I have shown my tapestries at many art galleries, museums, art societies, and institutions in Denmark and abroad, solo, with groups or in juried exhibitions.
