Jennifer Sargent’s Artist Statement

Nature, whether wild or domesticated, is the primary impetus for this artwork. My concerns for the environment and my lived experiences are intensified through the slow process of tapestry weaving. The transformation into an intricate mix of pattern, texture and color helps define the passage of time and its consequences.
